The app is quite simple, clutter-free and has a detailed breakdown of workouts and other fitness related parameters such as sleep, heart rate and stress. It is available on Android as well as iOS. You need to install the Xiaomi Wear app to sync this watch with. Since this watch doesn’t run a smart OS such as Wear OS, you do not get an option to install additional apps, which is the case with most watches that run their own RTOS. It can get a little confusing initially to understand what is what, but the learning curve isn’t steep. The app shortcuts are represented by tiny square icons that are devoid of labels. The UI and animations are smooth and lag-free. Though you cannot customise any of them, you are sure to find a handful of options that display the parameters that matter to you. You get a good mix of analogue and digital options that provide a wide variety of information and stats. This is probably the best collection among competing brands in this segment in India not necessarily in terms of quantity, but definitely in quality. The company offers a library of over 100 watch-faces for the Mi Watch Revolve Active, and one can expect more in the future. You also get a toggle in the quick settings to switch off the feature, or you can schedule it to stay off during your sleep hours, which is a smart thing to do. I seldom had to flick my wrist twice to turn the screen on. Flick-to-wake worked well most of the time, and has the right amount of sensitivity. The Mi Watch Revolve Active supports an always-on display, but it’s best to turn it off and use the flick-to-wake screen option more on that a little later. In the current cloudy weather, even level 3 is perfectly legible outdoors. I used level 3 indoors, and level 4 is good enough under bright sunlight. You get five levels of brightness to choose from, along with an ‘auto’ mode. You hardly spot any smudges on the screen, nor was there a single scratch after a few weeks of usage. There is no mention of Corning Gorilla Glass protection, but it does have a curved glass on top that blends nicely into the casing. The vibrant 3.53 cm circular touchscreen with a resolution of 454 x 454 pixels is quite sharp and responsive. The AMOLED display is one of the standout features of this watch. ![]()
